Reflecting in Kindness
Exploring new perspectives
Meet Kate, kindness cultivator
We are our thoughts, our words, our feelings, and so much more.
Hi, I'm Kate! I practice yoga and Reiki to cultivate a kind space for myself, my community, and our world. Today I continue to practice yoga and meditation in addition to Reiki. I am currently working on my 200 hour YTT with Three Sisters Yoga (led by Jen Whinnen and Kate English). In 2019, I completed my Reiki training with Cathy and Ken Freschi in Madison, CT in the practice of Usui Reiki, which was founded by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word that means "universal life force". In my practice, Reiki is a continuous reflection of yourself and the world around you through a lens of kindness. Having compassion and understanding for others and acknowledging the oneness that exists, which allows Reiki Practitioners to harness the universal life force and to serve as a conduit for that energy.
By cultivating a space of kindness for ourselves, we can share kindness with others and ourselves. Learn more about the benefits of yoga and Reiki the benefits and my work below.
Yoga is a physical practice based on asanas (or postures, in Sanskrit). Yoga has many benefits and can support overall energy, awareness of self, strength, and flexibility. Intentional practice over time supports reflection and growth.
I focus on yoga as a mindful movement with an aim to allow for reflection and to process. By being aware of our movement, our thoughts, and energy we are reflecting on ourselves, our environment, and the world around us. I offer yoga classes focused on grounding through energized movement, quiet yin, and restorative yoga. I include Reiki in savasana to support self love and to release thoughts and feelings that do not serve us.
